True to our love of beauty and stories, Wedgwood could not have did any better creating this beautiful limited edition crystal paperweight 1988 with the blue jasperware silhouette of Charles Dickens. This item is limited to 7500 very collectible. We love the feel of good crystal and also have the love of a good story by Charles Dickens. His stories were numerous, 15 major novels including, Oliver Twist, Bleak House, Great Expectations, A Tale Of Two Cities, and his personal favorite David Copperfield. He will long be associated with the celebration of Christmas due to the many Christmas stories. Born February 7, 1812 passing on June 9, 1870 he had expressed before passing of his wish for a simple burial in a small cemetery in Rochester, Kent but the Nation would not allow this, and he was laid to rest in Poet's Corner, Westminister Abby. The flowers from thousands of mourners overflowed his open grave. Among the most beautiful were the simple clusters of wildflowers wrapped in rags.
